If you want the relationship to last you must not weaken and start being nice.
The moment you are nice to a woman you are in a relationship with she will start behaving in a way that will cause harmony disruption. The reason women do this is because they want to know you are still in control. Women perceive your being nice as a weakness and she can no longer feel protected. Remember that technology has moved much faster then our mating strategies.
